Sports Premium
At Iver Heath Infant School and Nursery we believe that physical activity and a healthy lifestyle are essential elements for a happy, positive and successful childhood. Physical activity plays an extremely important role in in the health and well-being of both children and adults. Therefore we aim to provide and promote a variety of activities and sports for children to enjoy both within the school day and as extra-curricular activities. We also aim to encourage the whole school community to take part in physical activity and to develop ever healthier lifestyles.
Since 2013 the government has provided primary schools with additional funding to spend on improving the provision of Physical Education and sport. Since 2017 this funding has increased in order to support schools in developing a legacy of great teaching and to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle as a highly successful tool to improve educational attainment, emotional and physical health and well-being.
