April Newsletter

5th April 2019

Dear Parents

Firstly I would like to congratulate our fabulous PTA for achieving the wonderful fundraising total of £1851 at our Easter Fayre! An enormous amount of work goes into putting on an event such as this and they ensured that the morning was a huge success and they even arranged the lovely weather! Thank you all very much!

We have had an exciting last week of term! The Year One production of ‘Hats Off’ was performed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The children were brilliant, they danced, acted, sang and spoke beautifully. They made their audience laugh with delight while having a great time too. Well done Year One!

Yesterday our Nursery children amazed and delighted us all with their wonderful Easter Hats! Two of our governors judged the competition but all the children were winners.

Our Summer term begins for the children on Wednesday 24th April.  It will be another fun packed term with several visits and exciting events already planned. I will attach a new list of dates to this email.

Please can I remind everyone again of the importance of parking considerately when dropping off and picking up your children from school. We have unfortunately had incidents of people parking on the grass verges and blocking our neighbours’ drives. Please take time to consider others when you are parking and please make sure that your children walk into school with you to ensure their safety. Our school car park is in constant use with deliveries etc so it is vital that children are well supervised as they walk along the pavement to and from the school. Thank you.

The children will be bringing homework home for over the Easter holidays. The teachers take a long time to try to design homework which is both educational and fun. We hope that you and your children can find the time to complete it either during the holidays or in the first week of the summer term. Thank you for your support with this.

Two of our parents will be running the London marathon on Saturday 27th April in aid of ‘Children with Cancer UK’.  We wish them every success. If you would like to donate to this excellent cause please use the link below which will take you to the justgiving page for Team Jacob:

We will be holding a Hot Cross Bun breakfast in school from 8.20am on Friday 26th April with donations from this also going to Team Jacob.

Finally I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter and an enjoyable holidays!

As always if you have any concerns or queries please feel free to come in and see me.

Yours sincerely

Mrs J Baker
